Our Winter Recess Approaches! As we begin to think about our approaching holiday, I'd like to remind all families about the importance of good attendance this week (and every week). It goes without saying that, in order to get the most out of your child's education at ISS they need to be in school each day, on time, ready to learn.
Occasionally, families ask to excuse their children from school for personal reasons. Though sometimes this is unavoidable, it's important for parents to understand that absences related to family holidays are marked as "unexcused" in our records. As stated in our Parent-Student Handbook, students must maintain a 90% attendance rate in order to remain in good standing at our school. Additionally, the Singapore Immigration Department requires the school to notify them of any student in Singapore on a Student Pass who fails to make 90% attendance in any month.
Submitting Excuses for Absent Students
Please remember that parents and guardians must submit an attendance excusal via the school website if a child will be absent for any reason. The MS Absent Form can be found under the "Quick Links" tab on our website. This is our school's official means for parents/ guardians to communicate absences to the office.
