Unbelievably, we have all just finished our second week of school together. Students have swiftly gotten used to our ISS Middle School norms and are beginning to feel very at ease in their new homerooms. Thanks to each of you who joined us at our IB@ISS information evening this week. Many topics including the IB philosophy, learner profile and assessment were discussed by our IB Middle Years Coordinator, Fang Shelly. I would like to encourage all parents and guardians who have curriculum related questions to contact Fang Shelly directly via email at: [email protected]
We have another important event on our calendar next week. All parents and guardians are invited to come to the Middle School Hall for Meet the Teacher's Night on Tuesday, August 25th beginning at 6:30pm on the Paterson Road campus of ISS. This night is a wonderful opportunity for you to meet your children's teachers and learn more about our academic and pastoral programs. The format of the evening will be as follows:
6:30-7:00 Teachers will meet with parents in homerooms to discuss pastoral care in the Middle School. Your child's homeroom teacher is the first point of contact at the school for parents and guardians.
7:00-7:15 Welcome from the Principal in the Middle School Hall
7:15-8:00 Teachers will make themselves available to parents in the Middle School Hall to informally discuss our school's academic curriculum
Please note that, due to time limitation, "Meet the Teachers" night is not an appropriate forum to discuss your child's progress over the first weeks of school. Your teachers will be happy to arrange a separate meeting to discuss individual student issues at a later date.
